Terms of service
Last updated 17 September 2026
The short version. Pottles draws your plants and reminds you to look after them. Pottles Unlimited is a one-off purchase, not a subscription, and covers up to 250 plants ever added. Points are spent on redrawing a plant. Your photos stay yours, the drawings are yours to keep and share, and the care advice is a friendly suggestion rather than expert horticulture.
Who we are
Pottles is operated by Nixes, registered in Sofia, Bulgaria (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected].
Using Pottles
These terms apply when you use the Pottles app. If you don't agree with them, please don't use it.
Pottles is for your own personal use. You need to be 13 or older. Please don't try to break the app or our server, work around its limits, take it apart to extract the keys inside it, or use it to process photographs that aren't yours to share.
Pottles Unlimited
Pottles Unlimited is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again.
It lifts the free limit so you can add up to 250 plants in total, counted over the lifetime of your purchase. Plants are counted when they are added, and removing one doesn't give the count back — each plant is drawn when you add it, and that work is already done. The app always shows the number that actually applies.
Two hundred and fifty is a fair-use ceiling for one person's plants, not a quota to be resold or automated against. If you genuinely need more, write to us.
Points
Points pay for drawing a plant again or giving it a new look. They are bought in packs, spent inside the app, and have no cash value: they can't be exchanged for money, transferred to anyone else, or used anywhere but Pottles.
A point is spent when a drawing is accepted for work. If a drawing fails, the point comes back. Points are held against the random identifier described in the privacy policy, which lives in your keychain — keep iCloud Keychain on and they follow you to a new iPhone.
Paying, and refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple, under Apple's terms, and we never see your payment details. Refunds are Apple's to give: request one through reportaproblem.apple.com. If something has gone wrong on our side, write to us anyway — we would rather hear about it.
What's yours, and what's ours
The photographs you take stay yours. By using Pottles you let us process them for one purpose: identifying and drawing your plant, and keeping the results available to your app.
The drawings Pottles makes of your plants are yours to keep, print and share, including the share card. The app itself — its characters, artwork, copy and code — stays ours.
Care advice is not expert advice
Watering intervals, light suggestions and the facts your plants tell you are generated by AI models and are meant to be helpful and pleasant, not authoritative. They can be wrong. Please don't rely on them for a plant that is valuable, toxic, or in trouble — and don't rely on them for anything a person or an animal might eat.
The service can change
Pottles depends on services we don't control, including Apple's and the AI providers'. Features may change or stop working, and we may need to change these terms; when we do, we'll update this page and the date at the top. We won't take away what Pottles Unlimited promised you at the time you bought it.
If you break these terms in a way that damages the service or other people, we may stop serving your installation.
No warranty, and what we're liable for
Pottles is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that a drawing will look the way you hoped.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to what you have paid us. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law — and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of Bulgaria, and the courts of Sofia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own country's law.
